Someone asked me about shopping ‘post lockdown’ and I wanted to share my thoughts with you my gorgeous patrons.
My shopping habits have changed permanently.
I’m shopping with local companies who have stepped up and gone online. They’re providing a great service for a solid price.
This Patronage (I thank you!) was set up specifically to support not only my writing, but mainly commissioning art from individuals, and helping them build their businesses.
I’m buying fewer material things, less plastics, less disposables, buying key pieces, embracing less materialism.
I always remember a Star Trek quote (yes really) when Data said humans are the only race who spend their lives buying and collecting things so their offspring who don’t want them, can sell them. (Paraphrased!)
Of course I’m still buying books.
Have you bought any new writers books? Get over to Goodreads and have a look around. Send me your recommendations.
Do you seek out writers from different cultures? If you’re struggling without travel and holidays, escape to another place through books and literature.
Black Lives Matters reminds us it’s so important to support and learn about different histories and cultures.
Of course I’m still writing, got loads of new ideas popping into my mind, on this planet and elsewhere…
Also I’ve just discovered a FANTASTIC new app I want to share with you.
It’s owned by Google, I think, so if you’re a conspiracy theorist like me then you know the data collection is probably going on.
It’s called Otter.ai
I love it.
I’m a newbie, so this opinion may change, but so far looking good!
